Senegal: new ecological challenges to take up!
Senegal is currently suffering from an unprecedented ecological crisis that manifests in all the country through various sectors of activity. Man has voluntarily modified his living environment disturbing the biosphere and biodiversity.
Ecological Challenge: deforestation
Senegal has lost more than 20% of its plant resources since 1980. The desert gradually nibbles the surrounding countries, moreover, human actions are strongly involved in deforestation. In fact, 90% of households continue to use woodfuels to heat themselves. The process of deforestation is progressing fast, we estimate the damage to about 80000 hectares per year, or 1% of the total forest.
Tree planting actions have been put in place. Projects to combat desertification aim to help people in areas invaded by sand.

The sanitary conditions in which the Senegalese live are alarming. The management of domestic waste is a real environmental problem, indeed, the floor is strewn with detritus. Faced with this environmental disaster that threatens the health of the population, new ecological challenges are to be met!
A landfill has been created and a garbage collection service has been set up, innovative initiatives that are not enough if an awareness campaign is not conducted!
