Speak English, but not Maltese

Your simple passport or identity card is more than enough if you are a citizen of the European Union (except Croatia and Switzerland – non-EU member). If your internship is longer than 90 days, you will need a residence permit, which can be easily obtained in Valletta, or you can register by mail at the Department for Citizenship and Expatriate Affairs in Valletta, or by going directly to their offices. A few weeks later, you will receive a letter to collect your residence card. If you need other documents to work during your traineeship, your employer will take care of this. The working week is 40 hours per week (please don’t be lazy).

During your internship in Malta you will have the opportunity to attend many religious ceremonies, especially during the Easter period. Also, you will be able to see a lot of fireworks for the pleasure of the eyes. Some museums, a rich architecture and exhibitions are also possible cultural activities.
